A log you can check

Each entry in this handoff log carries the hash of the one before it. Tamper with any entry, then run verification and see exactly where the chain breaks. All in this tab.

The log

Five notarized handoff events. Each block commits to the previous block's hash.

    Tamper with it

Pick an attack. The log on the left changes; verification on the right finds it.

    Verification

Recompute every hash, check every link, in order.

    Not verified yet

A hash chain shows that a log was altered and exactly where. It does not say who altered it or whether the original entries were true. That is what signatures and approvals are for: see the forge and the playground.
